Northern Exposure 4

I'm a little behind on my posting since my Internet access is somewhat limited and slow. Here's where we've been since the Hubbard Glacier:

Sitka--this is a nice little town where we had Hank from Hank's Cab Co. take us on a two hour drive around the environs of this area. We went to a beautiful lake outside of town and on the way back stopped at a local chocolate factory to take in some samples. Hank moved to Sitka 10+ years ago from North Carolina after his wife died after a battle with cancer. He is a very interesting individual who not only owns a cab company, he is also a guitarist and instructor of local teens. He currently is specializing in Celtic music.

Skagway--here we boarded the White Pass train for a beautiful 3 1/2 hour ride through the mountains and into Canada. The scenery was very beautiful and majestic.

Juneau--Today we took a helicopter ride 40 miles inland and landed twice on two different glaciers. This is an experience that is beyond explanation, but it was a beautiful view of a unique part of God's creation. And...Susan, only six months to the day after foot surgery, strapped on the glacier boots and walked among the huge crevasses with the group. Pretty amazing stuff.
