Hike at Herman Gulch

Susan is in Dallas, so this morning I drove up I-70 to hike some at Herman Gulch. It was a spectacular day, 70 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. This hike is along a fast moving creek of snow melt and the air smells like pine trees. The wildflowers were in bloom inculding a lot of Columbines. A great thing about living in Denver is that I could get to this spot in about 1 hour and 15 minutes from our house.

One sad thing is the number of trees that are dying and or dead due to the beetle kill. The forest is going away rapidly.

Glad you had a fun day outdoors! Mom and I had a great time today. Thanks for letting me borrow her. Love you both!
